Hot Bathroom Fashion Trends Roundup

Flooring

At Tish, we are obsessed with home fashion trends, but especially bathroom fashion trends. It is our job to know what the experts are saying, to track the products and design schemes that have drawn crowds at home trade shows across the U.S., and to share this information with customers and friends of Tish Flooring. Plus, bathrooms are always a hot topic. So here we go for the year ahead…

We looked to see what some of our favorite fashion experts had to say about the year to come for bathroom fashion trends. Maybe you’ll be inspired to incorporate one or more of these styles in your home?

Colorful Patterns Are In

Boca do Lobo is locked in on beautiful patterns and vibrant colors when it comes to tile, and we have to agree! The brand was founded in 2005 and, early-on, it committed to reinterpreting ancient techniques of fine craftsmanship to create unexpected pieces of contemporary design.

Patterns painted on tiles are a great way to excite with tile. Designers are piecing together intricate designs using a variety of colorful, geometric tiles meant to capture the eye upon first glance.

Just about every color is appearing in tiles this year as a bright, happy bathroom trend for color-lovers. For example, vivid green can be paired with more subdued natural elements for a balance of colorful and carefree style. Or, try incorporating gray into the bathroom! Besides, gray is the new neutral everyone is obsessing over.

Go Matte Over Glossy

Where glossy-finish tile use to rule bathrooms, Sebring says matte finishes are the go-to style and they are here to stay. They feature a soft but powerful beauty style that does not get too overwhelming. An advantage of matte tiles is that they do not show smudges and watermarks as easily as glossy tiles. This makes them ideal for the bathroom floor, especially in busy bathrooms. The low sheen makes them easier to maintain. When installing matte finish tiles make sure there is enough lighting, both natural and artificial, as these surfaces absorb rather than reflect light.

If you are looking for understated elegance, go for matte finish tiles; delustered surfaces are subtle and earthy.  But if what you are looking for is something a bit more dramatic, glossy finish tiles will amp up the bling factor.

Timber is a Great Compliments

When looking for complimentary materials for cabinetry and other elements of your bathroom, Ziporah Lifestyle says look to wood. Solid timber and timber veneer finishes are a big design factor moving forward. Explore these options for shelving or unexpected elements such as a towel rack, picture frame, or tissue box cover in order to add organic warmth to the bathroom.

Look for timber finishes that are made and sealed especially for the wet and humid conditions found in the bathroom. If you want to take your bathroom timber to the next level, you can also consider looking into using a waterproof vinyl plank on the floors! WPC plank closely mimics real wood graining and texture but stands strong against water and moisture.

Don’t Be Afraid to Mix and Match

Patterns add depth and visual interest. Use combinations of tile, patterned rugs, or towels to bring modern life to your space. Punctuating bathrooms with accents of dynamic arrangements such as Geometrics, Stripes or Floral patterns will take your bathroom from boring to bold.

Learn more about how to create and showcase these patterns here! Just use caution when mixing patterns, in small spaces one pattern is plenty. Any more than that and you risk creating a visually displeasing space.
