Welcome Kelly McKasson to Tish Flooring
Tish Flooring is pleased to welcome Kelly McKasson!
As a new sales representative for our Sales team, Kelly McKasson is one of the first, friendly faces our customers meet when they come to Tish to find new, beautiful floors to enhance their home with. After their in-home appointment is scheduled, Kelly not only brings flooring samples, but his vast knowledge of flooring, with him in our customer’s homes to help them find and select the best style for their home.
Kelly’s knowledge in flooring comes from his over 30 years of experience working in the flooring industry, starting back in 1986 when he worked in his family-run flooring distribution company. Working primarily in a sales capacity the majority of those years, Kelly has always found immense satisfaction in helping people and is the part of his job that has kept him happily working in the industry all this time.
“I’ve always been a people person and a problem solver,” Kelly said. “Whether it’s a remodel, a new home, or whatever the situation is, helping to guide people to find the perfect new floors for them has always been my favorite part of the job.”
Not only is Kelly no stranger to flooring, funnily enough, he is also no stranger to the Tishler family! Growing up on the northside of Indianapolis, Kelly’s older brother was best friends with Bruce Tishler, Fred and Harry’s brother. Through his brother, he got to know Bruce and the rest of the Tish family, even become good friends, played sports with, and eventually lived in the same apartments as Harry.
Having worked at several flooring companies along the way, Kelly says he has settled in at Tish Flooring rather quickly in large part due to that relationship with the Tishler family.
“Working with people you have a history with helps a lot,” he said. “You know the quality of the people you work for, so you know they do things the right way and focus on the right things. That goes down to the rest of the team too. The rest of the sales and project management team have been very inviting and share the same values.”
Although he grew up knowing the Tishler family, Kelly moved out of state to Florida just before high school, finishing school and attending college at the University of Florida. He would return to Indiana a few years later. It was there, however, that he developed his allegiances to his favorite sports teams like the Rays, Lightning, and Buccaneers, which he still holds strong even back here in the Hoosier state.
When he isn’t helping people choose their new flooring, there is a good chance you’ll find Kelly out on the golf course. Kelly is a self-proclaimed golf addict, having once played on a competitive level. Nowadays, he still loves the game and plays whenever he can, but no longer at a competitive level. Over his years playing he has played all across the state, ranking Victoria National Golf Club and Crooked Stick as two of his absolute favorites.
Kelly and his wife of 24 years are major foodies, enjoying both cooking and exploring the Indianapolis food scene. Their favorite spot right now is Anthony’s Chophouse in Carmel and give it a big recommendation!
Kelly is also the father of four children and a grandfather to two boys (who he can’t wait to bring out to the golf course someday). Spending time with his wife, children, and especially spoiling his grandsons are some of Kelly’s favorite things in life.
