Welcome Kelly Gaughan to Tish Flooring!

Tish Flooring is pleased to welcome Kelly Gaughan!

As our Showroom Assistant, it is Kelly Gaughan that greets and cares for visitors to our showroom. Many times flooring shoppers already have an idea in mind of the type of flooring they would like to see when they arrive at Tish; Kelly directs them to product displays, introduces them to groupings that fit their description, and she helps by narrowing down styles and colors they may be interested in.

“I have always been a service-oriented person,” Kelly said. “When you start looking into replacing floors, there is so much out there it can be sensory overload! Working with people and being able to help them through the process and providing what guidance I can is very rewarding.”

This passion for helping customers has also driven Kelly to begin training for project management. She is currently in training to become a Project Manager, taking manufacturers’ online courses, participating in in-home measurement and presentations with Project Managers, and working directly with mill representatives to master their product lines.

Kelly’s interest and passion for interior design started at a young age and came from a pretty unusual place. Believe it or not, she first took notice of interior design playing video games! The Sims, to be exact. The game is what you might call a “life simulator”. You create your character and guide them through ‘life’; the character lands a job, finds love, and maybe even starts a family.

Most importantly for Kelly, however, is that you can design, build, furnish, and decorate your home on the Sims platform. It was this aspect she really took a shine to, spending hours finding the perfect design elements to compliment her choice of floors, wall paint, and furniture. A bit unusual, Kelly will be the first to admit, but hey, the interior design torch was lit!

About Kelly

Kelly was born and raised in the Indianapolis area and is a graduate of Park Tudor School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sales in 2018 at Ball State University where she was a Dean’s List Honors student. Kelly was quite once quite the athlete, participating in softball and volleyball while at Park Tudor, unfortunately surgery ended her athletic career before college.

However, she still stays very in tune with sports in her free time as an avid Indianapolis Colts, college basketball, and golf fan.

Kelly worked at an interior design company previously that wasn’t quite the right fit, but now she has really found a home at Tish Flooring.

“It is such a family-oriented business,” she said. “Tish really cares about its employees and every single person is invested in each other’s success.”

Outside of the office, Kelly stays pretty busy in between staying in touch and checking out the Indianapolis music scene, hanging out with her friends, and of course the occasional Netflix binge of some of her favorite shows like The Office, Parks and Recreation, Friends, and Outlander.
