Welcome Bill McCully to Tish Flooring!

Tish Flooring is pleased to welcome Bill McCully!

As our new Operations Manager, Bill will oversee the installation side of our business with a concentration on improving in-home services and process improvement in the areas of material handling and logistics, inventory control/material handling, installation scheduling, and training, development, and staffing of our installation subcontractors. Not a small job!

Bill has deep industry experience. He comes to us from Crew2, the installation services firm that installs for over 300 Home Depot locations in 17 states. Crew2 recruited Bill from Home Depot where he was District Services Manager.

Bill was over the Midwest as one of four senior Regional Managers. That job included coordinating installation of doors, windows, coverings and, of course, flooring for Home Depot stores. Prior to this he was in store management at both Home Depot and Lowe’s. Back in his home state of California, Bill ran his own flooring for a short while after serving in the United States Army.

Bill was attracted to the idea of leaving the “big box” chain store life behind and returning to a more local, family-oriented atmosphere – somewhere where he could settle down. When the opportunity at Tish arose, he was all-in.

“The turnover at more national locations was really demanding, and all the traveling wasn’t fun for me or my family either,” Bill said. “Tish is a family-owned business that started from scratch and established a strong niche and reputation in the community, especially with local Realtors. Everyone is involved and invested.”

He also says that the chance to do something different every day, and having the opportunity to work with different people on different projects is exciting.

Born and raised near Long Beach, California, Bill joined the Army after high school, spending time stationed in Korea. After returning to the states, Bill took several retail jobs before opening his own flooring business.

Soon though, Bill and his wife moved east. Since then, almost the entire McCully clan has transplanted to Indiana! Most of Bill’s five children and nine grandkids live in the area, so Bill plays the very busy role of grandpa, which he loves so much.

“It is so much nicer and easier to raise a family out here than back west,” Bill said. “We go back about once a year to see the few family members that are still there, but for the most part the rest of our family followed us to Indiana.”

When he isn’t working or spending time with the grandkids, Bill enjoys being outdoors whether it is fishing or camping. Bill and his family have also purchased land in Tennessee where they intend to build a cabin for family camping trips.
