Welcome Haley Pence to Tish Flooring!
Tish Flooring is pleased to welcome Haley Pence to our team!
Haley joins us in the newly created position of Showroom Coordinator. In this role, Haley greets and assists clients and visitors, acts as a liaison to our Project Managers, and works with our manufacturers’ reps to keep showroom displays and samples and commercial library in order updated.
Haley brings to Tish Flooring a background in interior design and merchandising. She was local Merchandising Manager at Kohl’s (Wisconsin) after college. Before that she worked as a Research Assistant and earned a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Interior Design degree from Southern Illinois University with a minor in horticulture. Haley did her externship at Remiger Design in St. Louis, MO.
While Haley has no prior work experience in flooring, she already demonstrates a talent for coordinating textures, colors, and themes with our clients. She is eager to expand her knowledge and expertise in the flooring industry.
“I am so excited to get a fresh start in flooring in such a friendly and helpful environment like Tish,” she said. “I still have a lot to learn about flooring, but I have a strong grasp on guiding customers through color and design choices – I believe I can really help them make great flooring choices.”
While working as our Showroom Coordinator, Haley gets plenty of hands-on training in estimating and project management. She focuses on fine-tuning her product knowledge during this time and eventually becoming a Project Manager.
Haley believes Tish is the perfect place to do it! Given her interior design credentials, we asked her “why Tish?” She wasn’t interested in working at one of the big, impersonal design firms. Coming from a small town, Haley said she valued high-quality work in a smaller, more personal environment.
Tish was her perfect match. The feeling was mutual.
“The Tish team is so tightly knit. I immediately knew it was a culture and team I wanted to be a part of.”
Haley grew up an outdoor kid and enjoys hiking, gardening and hunting. But, she also has a strong artistic side and has a great passion for drawing, painting and pottery on occasion. She loves the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears and, having just moved to Indiana in March, is excited to explore the city (so be sure to give Haley some good restaurant recommendations when you meet her!).
