Tish Flooring 2014 Customer Survey

Last month we included a survey in our monthly newsletter that we send out to all of our customers. The survey included a few short questions regarding changes customers wish they could make to their home flooring. Interested to hear what our customers had to say? Keep reading.

The first question we asked was, “If you could change the flooring in any room of your house, which room would you choose?” Don’t’ we all daydream from time to time about what it would be like if we could just rip out the flooring in the living room, dining room or kitchen and start fresh? Well, real life sometimes gets in the way of those daydreams, but we think it’s important to know which rooms in your home are at the top of your remodeling list. This allows us to have a better understanding of which rooms are priorities to you, and which are not. The vast majority of customers surveyed said they wish they could change the flooring in their family or living room. The kitchen came in at a close second and the bedroom came in third.

We get it. You spend a lot of time in your living room and kitchen. They are main hubs for family activities and are used every single day. That’s why it’s a great idea to invest in quality flooring in these rooms. Make sure you are choosing flooring that suits both your lifestyle and traffic density in the area.

The second question was a follow up to the first question. We asked customers what type of flooring they would choose to replace the flooring in the room they wanted to change. Hardwood came in first place with laminate flooring coming in second place. However, a fair amount of customers chose tile. Surprisingly, carpet came in last place, but carpet does need a little extra tender love and care to keep it looking fresh – more so than hard surface flooring options, i.e., hardwood, laminate, tile, etc.

Hardwood is by far the most popular flooring to date, but it’s interesting to see laminate and tile at the top of the list as well. Laminate flooring is popular because it’s stylish, has a natural look and will last for years to come. It’s also incredibly easy to keep clean and looking new. Large format tiles are very popular right now. You have the ability to choose the size, shape, color and texture of the tiles so your flooring has a more personalized feel.
