Employee Spotlight: Jack Mikesell
It’s time for you to be introduced to another member of the Tish Flooring family. Meet Jack Mikesell, Project Manager, Salesman and Estimator Extraordinaire.
Mikesell has been working for Tish Flooring for eight years and carries a lot of experience in working in the industry. Mikesell said, “As a Project Manager, you wear a lot of different hats. You need to be a jack of all trades. Besides going out on jobs and meeting with the customers at their homes, I also work the sales floor. You have to well-rounded when it comes to a job like this. You never know where you’ll have to jump in and help out, so it’s important to have experience in several different areas.”
Mikesell works closely with his fellow employees, whether it is going out on the road to different jobs or working in the office. Mikesell said, “It’s not just me going out to meet with customers, it’s the whole team. We cannot function or give the customer the full Tish Flooring experience without one another. I couldn’t get to all of the jobs if I didn’t have such a great group of people working with me. We are a well-oiled machine.”
Mikesell works with directly with customers on a day-to-day basis so he has noticed common questions that will come up during his projects. Mikesell said, “I get a lot of questions about pricing and how quickly a job can be completed, but usually those questions are asked and answered up front ahead of time. We really like to get to know the scope of the project before hand so we can successfully meet the customer’s needs. I always enjoy showing customers our website, too. It’s a great source of information that they can easily access.”
While Mikesell spends most of his time out on the road going from job to job, it can be hard to keep up with the demands at the office. Mikesell said, “The hardest part of my job is just finding a minute to breathe. I’m always go, go, go and there’s never enough time in the day to get everything done, but I manage. Trying to be everywhere at once is difficult, but the team at Tish Flooring is great and we always help each other out.”
But all of Mikesell’s hard work doesn’t go unrewarded. Mikesell said, “The best part of my job is the fact that I get to go to work every day and help people.
