FLOORING REPAIR & CORRECTIONS

TISH FLOORING helps Indianapolis homeowners and Realtors solve common flooring issues before they become bigger problems.

OUR FLOORING CORRECTIONS & REPAIRS — WHAT TO EXPECT

Our experienced team understands that flooring problems can be frustrating, especially when you aren't sure what caused them or whether they can be fixed.

We look at the condition of your existing floor, identify possible causes, and explain whether the issue can be corrected, repaired, or if replacement may be the better long-term option.

Flooring corrections may be needed for issues such as:

  • Separating luxury vinyl planks
  • Bubbled or lifting laminate
  • Loose or shifting flooring
  • Cracked or damaged floor sections
  • Uneven areas or soft spots
  • Flooring affected by moisture or movement
  • Problems found during a new flooring installation
  • Floors that need attention before listing a home for sale

BEFORE YOUR FLOORING CORRECTION OR REPAIR

Before your appointment, take note of what you're seeing and where the issue is happening. A small gap, bubble, or soft spot may seem minor, but the pattern can help us understand what may be causing the problem.

A few things that are helpful to know before we arrive:

  • When did you first notice the flooring issue?
  • Has the problem changed, spread, or gotten worse?
  • Is the issue near a doorway, kitchen, bathroom, basement, exterior wall, or high-traffic area?
  • Has there been any recent water, humidity, leak, spill, or appliance issue nearby?
  • Was the flooring recently installed, or has it been in place for years?
  • Are you trying to repair the floor, replace it, or prepare the home for sale?

If you are scheduling a new flooring quote, this is also when we evaluate whether any corrections may be needed before installation. These details help us recommend flooring that can perform well in your space and help avoid preventable problems later.

DURING YOUR FLOORING CORRECTION OR REPAIR

During the appointment, we will inspect the area and talk through what may be happening. Some issues are easy to see right away. Others require a closer look, especially if the concern may be related to movement, moisture, previous installation, or the condition beneath the finished floor.

If we are correcting an existing flooring issue, we will explain whether the repair appears to be localized or whether there may be a larger concern. For example, separating vinyl planks may be caused by product movement, unevenness, moisture, installation concerns, or damage to the locking system. Bubbled laminate may point to moisture, expansion issues, or a condition below the surface.

If we are installing new flooring and discover that corrections are needed, we will explain why the correction matters. In many cases, flooring manufacturers have installation requirements for the surface underneath the new floor. If those requirements are not met, the flooring may not perform as expected and future warranty coverage may be affected.

We will never expect you to understand flooring terms on your own. We will explain the issue clearly, review your options, and help you decide whether to move forward with the recommended correction.

AFTER YOUR CORRECTION OR REPAIR

After the correction or repair is complete, we will review the work with you and answer any questions about what was done. If your repair is part of a larger flooring installation, we will continue with the next step once the flooring area is ready.

Our goal is for your floor to look better, feel more stable, and perform the way it should. We also want you to understand how to care for the flooring afterward, especially if moisture, furniture movement, pets, or heavy traffic contributed to the original issue.

For homeowners, that means more peace of mind in busy spaces like kitchens, hallways, family rooms, basements, and entryways. For Realtors and sellers, it means fewer flooring distractions before listing photos, showings, or open houses.

If your floors are separating, bubbling, lifting, cracking, or simply not feeling right, Tish Flooring can help you get answers.
